Linear Slides Applications
Trantek Drive Systems
Inc., offers Screw Driven Robot and Tooling Shuttles.
TranTek Drive Systems Inc. has been providing screw driven
shuttles to move robots and tooling in automotive feeder plants. A typical
shuttle must move 5,000 pounds at a maximum speed of 8 feet/second along
varying length indexes (as short as 5 feet and as long as 150 feet). The
tooling shuttles typically move 2000 pounds.
TranTek Drive Systems, Inc. has provided these screw driven
shuttles when the application and environment are not well suited for other
types of shuttles (eg. Rack and pinion driven).
The screw driven typical shuttle includes:
- Heavy duty steel
frame weldment
- Hardened and ground
wear rails
- 2 _ diameter high
lead (six inches) cold formed screw
- Heavy duty patented Dri-Tran®
polymer nut
- Follower and drive
end bearings
- Gear reducer
- Cat track assembly
- Steel carriage with
gear reducer mounting assembly
- Screw cover/guard
- Heavy duty cam
follower bearings
- Machined interface
tie plate for joining 16 foot sections for longer shuttles
- Mastering
pin/fixture assembly for mastering robot position
- Electronic/automatic
lubrication device for Dri-Tran®
polymer nut
- Rail wipers to
remove debris
- Rail covers to keep
debris off the rails
- Leveling and floor
mounting assembly
- Safety stops
Trantek Drive Systems
Inc., provides (36) Rack and Pinion Driven Shuttles for the new Hyundai
assembly plant in Alabama.
Rack and pinion driven shuttles are a common solution to
move robots and tooling in an Automotive Assembly Plant Body Shop. A
typical shuttle must move 5,000 pounds at a maximum speed of 5 feet/second
along varying length indexes (as short as 5 feet and as long as 150 feet).
TranTek Drive Systems, Inc. has provided all the rack and
pinion driven shuttles for the new Hyundai Assembly Plant scheduled for
production in 2005. The typical shuttle includes:
- Heavy duty steel
frame weldment
- Hardened and ground
wear rails
- Hardened and ground
integrated wear rail/rack
- Steel pinion
- Gear reducer
- Cat track assembly
- Steel carriage with
gear reducer mounting assembly
- Pinion backlash
adjustment assembly
- Heavy duty cam
follower bearings
- Machined interface
tie plate for joining 16 foot sections of longer shuttles
- Mastering
pin/fixture assembly for mastering robot position
- Felt pinion with lubrication
device for pinion lubrication
- Rail wipers to
remove debris
- Rail covers to keep
debris off the rails
- Leveling and floor
mounting assembly
- Safety stops
TranTek provides system integration and a 20 hour run-off
by integrating the robot and robot seventh axis drive package and cycling
the robot/shuttle along the length of the shuttle. Multiple carriages are
provided as needed based on the process.
